Information, an inescapable part of the world in which we live, belongs to a multiple, almost infinite, manipulative, manipulated and also capitalist universe, or creator of much money and power. Among the many means by which we can access this information, there are newspapers, a concrete material object that is an element of this informational universe, being also waste, as a disposable and characterizing material of a space, time and place. KID AS KING is characterized by a set of interconnected, organic actions, where stopping is disappearing, where where to fix is to succumb, and escaping implies a dynamic generator of new actions. The existence and excess of it are present in an inalienable way, without the possibility of castration. Two arms that bind you behind your back, constructing a frantic landscape, an imminent bomb on the border of suffocation. In a persevering walk, this figure continues, in a tribute to the beauty of rebellion.

E, no entanto, é lixo. “Trash”.

The urgency in exploring the “trash”, or garbage, as a place of memory, is related to the relation that I establish with it: through concrete objects, most of them that, over time, become trash. Or how waste defines biography, individual history, what we travel through what we acquire, use and consume. The garbage I refer is the universe of objects that do not die, that do not rot naturally. They are the letters, the newspapers, the physical objects, the furniture, the clothes. Through the analysis of a person's garbage, it is possible to construct biographies, movements, lives. It is, therefore, a territory both undesirable and essential as a matter that exists, despite the destruction of it in very effective ways in contemporary societies. Curiously, in these societies, the business of destroing garbage is a profitable business and thus part of a capitalist system, where profit reigns more or less wildly. The production of garbage as a production of memory, and yet, also production of something undesirable that is imperative to destroy. To destroy the garbage, we built machines, landfills, that is, it arises an all other universe that is built, here to destroy. Destroying garbage is also to destroy memory, it is destroying part of human lives. And it is in this paradoxical universe that Kid As King happens.

We are bogged down in information, a part of it manipulated and manipulating how we understand the world, what surrounds us. And yet, it's garbage. "Trash". In Kid As King, garbage is the scum and arises in the form of undesirable starting territory.

As in Christian Boltanski's Personnes, a pyramid-throne will be built, an hill that materializes through "newspapers", news from a world where they neutralize and become insignificant, controlled by an unstable but still pragmatic resident. The creation of a pyramid-throne implies the existence of a vigilante, a controller who, in his acts, evidences his greater disproportions. However, this pyramid-throne is also a wall. A wall of information, a wall of indignation before the world, a wall of separation.
